THE HUMBLE BEGINNING

Keepers’ Club International (KCI) was first founded by Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy, the executive Pastor of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ The Name Above Every Name .

The club was first established under the name of Christ Ambassador’s Ministry (CAM) last June 1986 in  Davao City . In 2001, it was renamed Keepers’ Club to gain access in different schools as its members grow in number until it became an international group.

Since then, its establishment spread like a wildfire in Mindanao, Visayas, Luzon and abroad gaining thousands of members worldwide.

The name Keepers’ Club is derived from the Bible  passage, which says, “I am my Brother’s Keeper.” This represents the values a Keeper’s Club member that he should possess in the avenue of showing concern to his fellow brothers and sisters which is centered with the teachings of  our Father, Lord Jesus Christ.

The organization strives to preserve and keep the spiritual value formation of every member through  organizing different activities thus honing a  balance well-being of a young person in producing spiritually mature and productive members of the society.

HISTORY – an Evolution

The Keepers’ Club was existent long before it was named as such, under the name “ Christ ’s Ambassadors Ministry” in 1986. The pilot schools were MATS College of Davao and University of Mindanao .

In the following years, other schools joined in – operating under the name Students with A Purpose. Ateneo De Davao University, Holy Cross of Davao College, Davao City National High School, Bernardo Carpio High School, Daniel R. Aguinaldo High School and many others.

Shortly, schools from around the country founded an extension of the Keepers’ Club – In Luzon - the Philippine Christian University in Manila , Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, Emilio Aguinaldo College and University of the East.

It was a grand launching at the PHILIPPINE CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY. The first Keepers’ Campus Crusade was held there and it was an ignition fire for the rest of the universities who adopted Keepers’ Club in their campuses.

In visayas - the University of San Carlos in Cebu, University of St. La Salle in Bacolod, University of San Agustin also in Bacolod, Negros College and University of Negros Occidental Recoletos. Aklan Polytechnic University also launched the Keepers’ Club in their school with a giant campus crusade.

Since the Keepers’ Club’s main base is here in Davao City , the campus crusades are not new. In fact, there are weekly gatherings held at the headquarters there at the downtown area. Every Friday or Saturday – Keepers assemble and light up the night with songs, music, fellowship and constructive talk.
